Laser Assisted Dentistry

Dr. Pyle—The 1st Weston Dentist

Laser Dentistry

As part of his uncompromising approach to the quality of care and comfort of his patients, Dr. Pyle employs the use of sophisticated laser technology. Lasers can scan your teeth with harmless laser light searching for hidden decay before it has the chance to destroy the tooth structure from the inside out. These advanced instruments are especially friendly for children, reducing the need for drilling and anesthesia. Lasers can also be used for minor gum surgery allowing for shorter recovery time and reduced bleeding. Dr. Pyle is trained and certified in the use of two different treatment lasers and has been a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry since 2005.

Why the Need for Laser Dentistry?

The widespread use of fluoride supplements in dental materials, toothpastes and drinking water has made tooth surfaces harder and more resistant to decay. The result is that diagnosing cavities is more challenging than ever. While the external surface of the tooth may appear to be healthy, the disease process can start through microscopic defects in the hard surface enamel and can readily spread undetected into the softer tooth structure beneath the surface. X-rays and probing with an explorer are simply unreliable in detecting sub surface decay, particularly when the cavity is in its early stages. Laser dentistry provides the best opportunity to detect early stages of sub surface decay.

Patients who could more conveniently visit a Fort Lauderdale Dentist or a Plantation Dentist travel the extra distance to see Dr. Pyle. That’s in part because they can count on receiving the most advanced dental care available in the area. If you’re looking for a Weston Dentist that offers family and cosmetic dentistry than make an appointment with us today.
