Weston Dentist on Why the End of Lockdown is the Time for Teeth Whitening
Between wearing a mask and staying at home our teeth haven’t been on display much over the past year. With COVID guidelines being relaxed, summer coming and masks coming off your teeth are about to meet the world again. With many of us wisely limiting non essential dental work during the past year like a lot of people you may have neglected your smile. Now is a great time to consider teeth whitening.
There is nothing less attractive than yellow stained teeth. Many stains are underneath the enamel and the only effective method to reach them is having a cosmetic dentist apply a special product. At our office we use ZOOM.
What Is Zoom?
During COVID you may have spent a lot of time on your computer taking meetings on Zoom. This is not that Zoom. This technique is a teeth bleaching accomplished in the dentist’s chair. Lips and gums are protected, and the ZOOM gel is applied to the teeth. The procedure involves three applications with a 15-minute wait time between each. Results can be dramatic.
How Does Zoom Teeth Whitening Work?
Zoom Teeth Whitening is a laser treatment. The process combines a Zoom laser, with a hydrogen peroxide-based whitening gel. Zoom is like a bath for your teeth. First your teeth are covered with the gel and then the laser is applied to break it down, releasing oxygen and ridding your teeth of the gray and yellow stains.
Before You Zoom
Before you Zoom! be sure to make an appointment to have your teeth cleaned prior to the procedure. If you’re on the fence or want to know more about Zoom, book a consultation with your dentist.
